Reading SOUP are delighted to confirm three excellent Reading community projects for our September event.
Cianna’s Smile are a charity set up to support families affected by Sickle Cell Anaemia in the Thames Valley. New Beginnings are an alcohol free pub serving the homeless and needy in Reading.
Our third pitcher, Reading City of Sanctuary are the local chapter of the national movement aiming to build a culture of hospitality for people seeking sanctuary in the UK.
As well as those three fabulous pitchers, we’ll also have a bumper musical performance from Reading’s a capella group the Readiophonics.
We’ll also have two warming autumn soups. Both were chosen by our community in a Facebook and Twitter poll. The first is vegetable and dumpling golf ball soup, the second is autumn sweet potato soup.
In July we raised £185 for Reading Community Learning Centre and we made it into the Reading Chronicle for our anniversary celebrations. Read more about it in our July event recap post.
Wednesday 20 September, 6.30pm-9pm, St Laurence Church, Friar Street, £5 entry on door. All proceeds go to the winning project.
